Thu Sy commune is about 60 km from Hanoi and it takes visitors only 1.5 hours to drive from Hanoi, on Highway 5 and provincial road 200 to this place.
Local people have pursued this job for generations. At present, this traditional job still exists in the two villages of Noi Lang and Tat Vien. This is the major source of living of locals during their free time. During the harvest season, they make fish-pots at night.
Weaving fish-pots requires skills and a meticulous manner, but in Tien Lu commune, even small kids can make this product from bamboo.
The average time for making a product is 15-20 minutes.
The price is cheap, only from VND3,000 to VND4,000 ($1 = VND21,700).
The main market for this product are the sunken areas in Tien Lu district and the neighboring provinces such as Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong …
Every year these villages supply the market with about 650,000 products.
You can take a one-day tour to this site. Besides learning about the local craft, you can tour and enjoy the spacious, clean field and atmosphere.
