A lesser-known yet stunning trekking route in Vietnam is theone linking the central provinces of Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan.
Known as the Ta Nang-Phan Dung route, it stretches 55 kilometers, starting from Ta Nang Commune, around 60 kilometers south of the resort town of Da Lat in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, and ending in Phan Dung Commune, a mountainous commune in the south-central province of Binh Thuan.
Trekkers will have the chance to experience crossing the forests, climbing up mountain passes and wading across streams. They will move from the altitude of 1,100 meters down to 500 meters, from the Central Highlands to the coastal area.
Although it takes a lot of effort to finish the trek, it is quite worth it: The landscape is extremely beautiful. It is arguably the most beautiful trek in Vietnam.
It usually takes at least three days to finish this trek. During the rainy season, remember to bring raincoats and warm clothes as the temperature may drop at night.
As trekkers will have to cross the forests, beware of snakes, scoprions and insects, especially wasps.
