German Film Festival set to get underway


The Goethe-Institut Hanoi has announced that its sixth edition German Film Festival will open in Hanoi September 4th with the suspense filled cybercrime thriller Who am I directed by German helmer Baron bo Odar.


Whether drama, thriller or comedy – this year’s two week long film festival in five venues across Vietnam will provide a diversified variety of films for audiences of all ages – affording them an opportunity to dive into the German film scene.


In addition, young German director, scriptwriter and actor Tali Barde will be on hand to talk about his film For No Eyes Only with Hanoi audiences September 9 at the National Cinema Centre and with Ho Chi Minh City audiences September 12 at the Cinebox Cinema.


Tali Barde was born in 1990 in Bensberg and was already interested in acting during his youth.


After several short films the young actor, director and scriptwriter Tali realized the youth thriller For No Eyes Only.


A film quiz contest asking questions about the films shown at the festival is also being held. More information can be found at the Goethe-Institut website http://www.goethe.de/ins/vn/prj/dfv/qui/enindex.htm


The venues for the festival are September 6-13 at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi, September 12-18 at the Cinebox Cinema in HCM City, September 11-20 at Le Do Cinema in Danang City, and September 10-14 at the Centre for Culture and Information in Hue City.
