A Vietnamese tourist wins luckiest award in Thailand


Vu Minh Phuong from Vietnam became the thirteen millionth visitor to Thailand on June 13 morning and then was given the award at Bangkok"s Suvarnabhumi Airport by representatives from TAT in collaboration with Thai Airways International (THAI), the Immigration Bureau, and Airports of Thailand (AOT).


The event, in conjunction with the campaign of Discover Thainess, aims to raise the number of international tourists to visit Thailand. It also aims at promoting the endless charm of Thailand, the diversity of destinations, full flavours of Thai cuisine, fascinating uniqueness of the traditions and culture, as well as the friendliness of Thai people which brings on a memorable journey for arrivals from other countries.


Thailand"s tourism sector has been faring well so far this year. According to the preliminary figure, tourist arrivals from January to May 2015 reached 12.45 million, a 24.72 percent increase over the same period in 2014 and represented a 13.07 percent growth over the same period in 2013.


The lucky traveller will receive two economy-class return air tickets from their international port of origin to Thailand as well as enjoy a five-night accommodation in Thailand for the next trip. The prize is valid within one year.
