Conference to promote tourism links

The conference was hosted by Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee in coordination with the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Ho Chi Minh municipal People’s Committee.

Connection in tourism has become an inevitable trend and important requirement for tourism development to all stakeholders on a national scale.

The conference aimed to enhance links and cooperation in tourism development, especially promotional activities that attract local tourists to southern Viet Nam.

Quang Ninh will play a leading role in expanding connection between northern localities and Ho Chi Minh City, southern provinces and cities to build and sell tourism products, share experiences in realizing overall plans for tourism development and managing ships on Ha Long Bay.

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City will also a pioneer in widening links in the southern region in order to help Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Lang Son build and sell their tourism products.

At the conference, tourism experts, state management organs, representatives of tourism departments and travel agencies focused on analyzing and assessing tourism cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and other localities, orientations for tourism development connection, co-operational policies for aviation development and factors which affect to tourism development connection.

They also suggested that the localities focus on adjusting tourism development policies suitable to connection orientations in the trend of diversifying tourism products, cooperation in researching market and specific products of each locality, perfecting destination management to create a safe environment, shaping the promotion mechanism during connection and upgrading social infrastructure.

Under the framework of the conference, eight localities including Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Lang Son signed a cooperative deal for tourism development. The deal includes five main areas related to developing tourism products, popularizing tourism promotion, developing tourism staff, calling upon investment in developing tourism and state management on tourism./.
