Map of tourism products in Vietnam’s central coast launched

According to the EU-ESRT on November 25, the map, developed by EU-ESRTexperts, is seen as a useful reference for the tourism authorities ofthree regional provinces – Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Da Nang – toresearch and design plans for local tourism development.

The technical report is intended to enhance the destination managementand marketing efforts for the three provinces’ tourism products atregional level.

It analyses the current situation of the regional tourism sector,identify and assess priority tourism products for their connectionwithin the region.

Three main strategies were also identified for priority tourism productlinkages as follows – connecting key cultural heritage products bystrengthening the Heritage Road touring route, connecting key coastalproducts into an intra-provincial coastal beach tourism hub, connectingkey nature and community-based tourism products by developing a NatureTrail touring route circuit.

In addition, the EU-ESRT experts made recommendations to strengthen the regional tourism products.

“The beaches, coastal and inland waters in the Central Coast tourism hubare critical components of the tourism experience and the keyattraction for most visitors. The careful management of these productsis therefore critical for the hub to operate successfully as a desirabletourism destination. The coastal areas and inland waterways that havebeen prioritised are the beaches of Lang Co, My Khe & Pham Van Dong,Cua Dai & An Bang, Cham Island, and the Han River in Da Nang”, thereport said.

The EU-ESRT programme will continue designing technical reports forregional tourism product development at priority areas including eightNorthwest provinces and three Mekong Delta localities.
