Establishing Project to restore 04 relics in Hanoi



Accordingly, the Ministry approves for establishing the Project to maintain and develop some valuse through budget of Dong Da district and other socialized sources. The Ministry proposed the People’s Committee to direct some functional agencies in Regulation No.2706/BVHTTDL-DSVH on September 18, 2012 of the Government to establish the Project and submi to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.




Officials in Hanoi designated Thanh Nhan Pagoda on La Thanh Street in Hanoi a national historical site in 1990. Now, 22 private homes occupy its grounds, hampering any effort to actually restore the structure. Monk Thich Dam Nguyen said 13 of the houses hug the damaged temple, forcing them to hold off restoration plans for fear that they"ll damage the houses.Thousands of old, decaying structures in Vietnam have attained the status of “national heritages”.“For four years, we dared not open the door of the temple as it could lead to the collapse of the rotten brick roofing and wooden pillars,” he said. “When it rained, it becomes as wet inside as outside. I had to put a hat on the Buddha statue to protect it.”




Trung Tu communal house was built in the seventh century. The communal house has been restored many times and recognized as cultural and historical relics in 1992.




Nam Dong communal is the historical relics of Ly Thuong Kiet and an architectural relic of art.




Co Mieu pagoda is recognize as relic site of art in 1996.




Document replaces Document No.2275/BVHTTDL-DSVH on June 09, 2015 of the Ministry.
