World artists to judge 2nd Vietnam belly dance contest

Professional foreign belly-dancers will join the judging panel of thesecond Vietnam Belly Dance Festival held by Saigon Belly Dance at SCVivo City shopping center in HCMC’s District 7 on July 11-12.

They are Angella Kim from South Korea, Julia Torgonkar from Ukraine, and Daila Jansikova from the Czech Republic.

Kim used to perform and judge belly dance competitions in South Korea, Singapore and Argentina.

Torgonkar was the champion of the BellyFusions Festival held in Francein 2012 and was member of the organizing committee of the Dream andDance competition while Jansikova is a three-time champion of the WorldBelly Dance Champion.

These artists will also advise and train competitors in the secondVietnam Belly Dance Festival, the first belly dance contest in Vietnamwith foreign belly dancers sitting on the panel of judges.

According to the organizer, the contest will be attended by 70Vietnamese and foreign competitors who will perform 40 solo and groupperformances.

The awards include cash prize worth VND40 million (US$1,834) and scholarships for advanced belly dance courses.
