The popular UK news website Telegraph has named rice terraces in Vietnam’s northern provinces among the most unusual and beautiful landscapes on earth.

The symbol of Vietnamese farming is described as “one of the most striking green landscapes in the world” and a valid representative of Vietnam, which is the second largest rice exporter in the world.

The Telegraph came up with a list of 14 amazing landscapes, ranging from the world’s largest salt flat formed from several prehistoric lakes in Bolivia to an icy cave in Alaska and a hill with 400,000 pink moss flowers in Japan.

Vietnam’s tourism ministry has also listed the terraced fields as one of the most beautiful sights of the country.

The fields draw most tourists in September and October when their colors change before the harvest season.
